APRIL/MAY 2008
Newsletter

It’s hard to believe that we are already through the first three months of the year, and the festival season is already here! We will be doing three festivals in the next six weeks in addition to our regular bookings, and hope that many of you will be able to see us at some of them. This Saturday we are playing the first time for the Newport Pig Cookoff festival. We play right downtown Newport, and are looking forward to picking and grinning, and also partaking in some of the fine barbecue while there. We play from 1 to 5 p. m. Make sure to stop by and say “hey” to us if you can make it!

Later in the month we will be playing again at the Country Tonight Show at the Ice House on Friday, April 18. What a great show that has turned out to be! Great sound, wonderful down home type rustic little theatre, super comedy. We have put the full month’s schedule on the newsletter. Great bands and fun each week. Perfect place for the entire family. If you have not been there you are missing a good time!

Thanks for all the words of support and encouragement many of you continue to give us. We work hard at trying to keep our song list fresh, and yet at the same time, play the songs that we continue to get request for time and time again. We can just look at who is coming through the doors at most places and tell you what we need to add to our play list that night. We try to accommodate everyone we can, but we just can’t get everyone’s favorite played every time, and thank you for your understanding!

The last Saturday in May (May 26) we will be back at one of our favorite dances - The Washington Singles Club! For those of you that are singles club members we hope to see you there. Now, these are some dancing folks, and they know how to serve some fine food!

We are doing something new this month – we will be playing the Wilson Moose Seniors dance on Wednesday night, April 30. It runs from 7:30 to 10:30. We hope to see lots of our regulars there. Tammy will not be able to play with us that night and we will miss her, but the show must go on and we will do our very best to keep everyone on the dance floor.

Check out our May dates on the schedule. We will be doing the Smithfield Ham and Yam festival on May 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.! We are glad to be back again for them this year; it was a ball last year! Then on May 10, we do the Nashville Blooming festival from about 12:30 to 3 p.m. This is our fifth year playing for them, and are excited about returning. We return to the New South Club in LaGrange on May 3! We missed being there in March and April, so that’s going to be fun. On May 17 we return to play for the nice people at the New Bern singles. This is a class club, and we really like those folks. On May 31 we return to the Benson American Legion for their “huge” dance; what a dance floor! What a crowd! We do two “Country Tonight Shows” in May ; May 9 and 30. Hope to see you at both!

AGAIN, THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
